From Marye's spiral recipe notebook — page 27 of the notebook she kept with grape-cluster illustrations on each page.
Ingredients
Fresh, canned, or frozen berries or fruits (1 can or equivalent) ½ cup sugar ½ cup milk ½ cup flour 1 tsp baking powder ½ cup butter, cut into squares
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Dot the bottom of an ungreased baking dish with the butter squares. 3. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and milk together; pour over the butter. 4. Spoon a can of cherries (or the equivalent amount of fresh or frozen fruit) over the batter. Use the juice and all. 5. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes. The crust comes through on top. 6.
