Bleu Cheese Dressing

A glass bowl of bleu cheese dressing topped with chives.

Ingredients

2 cups mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
¾ cup buttermilk
1 cup bleu cheese crumbles
½ Tbsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp lemon juice
¼ Tbsp white pepper
½ Tbsp salt

Instructions

1. Whisk all ingredients together in a large bowl until smooth.
2. Taste; adjust salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste.
3. Chill at least an hour before serving for the flavors to come together.

Notes

Quarter-batch scaling (for smaller portions — divide every ingredient by 4):
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅛ cup (2 Tbsp) sour cream
  • 3 Tbsp buttermilk
  • ¼ cup bleu cheese crumbles
  • ⅛ Tbsp garlic powder (a scant ½ tsp)
  • ½ Tbsp (1½ tsp) lemon juice
  • 1/16 Tbsp white pepper (a generous pinch, about 3/16 tsp)
  • ⅛ Tbsp salt (a scant ½ tsp)
